Because of his interest in the course and by help of a friend who got him started, Luiz helped Matheus from Brazil enroll in Michael’s Online TOEFL Course the “The 7 Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT.” Matheus was looking for a good teacher to help me improve in his English. Really tired of not meeting his requirements on the test, Matheus took the TOEFL iBT exam twice and got the same marks 79. On July 11, 2012, Matheus’s individual scores were: (R-17, L-22, S-22, and W-18.) During Matheus’s second exam on August 15, 2012, his scores were: (R-16, L-23, S-21, and W-19.)
Getting very low scores in reading and writing, Matheus was consulted to review Michael’s reading and writing sections to improve his English proficiencies. And over the course of a few months with 7 different sections concentrating in vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, reading, listening, speaking and writing; Matheus worked on each of these sections with his main concentration in reading and writing. And with ample time, Matheus successfully reached an adequate TOEFL iBT score 101!
While studying Michael’s reading section, Matheus had various lessons and over 60 speed reading tests which enabled him to learn effective reading skills. Having been tested to read 100 to 350 words per minute, as well as improving his reading comprehension skills with various lessons, Matheus learned to: discern main ideas and details, understand vocabulary from context, understand the organization of reading passages including transitions, and have an ability to make inferences. Thus, this resulted in Matheus scoring 25 during the TOEFL iBT reading section.
While studying Michael’s writing section, Matheus had 40 independent and 43 integrated practice tests plus 100′s of skill-building exercises which enabled him to learn effective writing skills. Having been tested to address the independent and integrated tasks of the actual TOEFL iBT, as well as developing important writing skills with various lessons, Matheus learned competent independent and integrated writing skills such as: decoding the writing task, organizing a coherent response, writing detailed developmental paragraphs, and ending the essay with a conclusion. Thus, this resulted in Matheus scoring 27 during the TOEFL iBT writing section.
