About two months ago, S. joined an Online TOEFL Course called The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT. Since then, she has been completing vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, listening, reading, writing, and speaking lessons. In particular, she has concentrated heavily on completing the lessons and practice tests in the pronunciation, writing, and speaking sections of the course because she needs to score 26 and 24 on the speaking and writing sections.
Finally, last week she re-took the TOEFL exam and sent the following message to her TOEFL mentor:
Hi Michael,
I just finished my exam. I think it went well. Hope I cross 100.
My independent essay was :
Agree or disagree to “students these days are disrespectful to their teacher”
Interegrated essay was:
Summarize how the lecture challenges the points in the reading .
“reading talks about how sauropods are giants. Reasons for it: 1) oxygen concentration 2) abundant plantations
3) warn climate !! during the dinosaur age.
While lecture argues:
Contrary to these points based on scientific research now.
Speaking was okay.
1) what is your opinion !!!
” if you want to contribute to society through volunteer which would you choose: – (there were 3 options to choose from and I chose I would volunteer by planting more trees…. And gave exams on glabal warming )
2) what is your opinion type question again !!!!
” should friends be in the same classes “
Even though S. did not have the official results from ETS concerning her TOEFL score, she was confident that she did well. Most students do have a pretty good idea of how well they performed right after taking the test. Michael was happy to get S.’s message, so he prepared the following video message for her:
