Jackson is looking for a TOEFL Course to help him improve his score from 72 to 80 points.

Jackson, needing a higher score so he can enter a graduate program in the United States, is searching for a Online TOEFL Course to help him improve his score from 72 to 80.  After using the various search engines such as Google and Yahoo, he eventually landed on a web page advertising a course called “The 7-step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT.”  Liking how comprehensive the course is in that it covers vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, reading, listening, writing, and speaking, Jackson was excited to join this course, but he had two questions:  “What kind of personal feedback will you give me after I complete the writing and speaking practice tests.”

Concerning writing,  founder, owner, and materials writers of “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT” Michael Buckhoff informed Jackson that he would provide him written feedback each time he took an independent and integrated writing practice test which would 1) give him a score, 2) explain why,  3) point out any particularly troublesome areas of the writing, and 4) recommend specific lessons that he review to strengthen this writing. For example, if Jackson were having problems creating a sharply-focused thesis, Michael would recommend that he study TOEFL Writing Lesson 2.  Michael also informed Jackson that there was an additional error correction service Jackson could use if he wanted to have all of the errors corrected in each essay that he wrote.

Michael then explained that, after Jackson had completed a pronunciation or speaking practice test, he would provide audio or video feedback each time Jackson completed a pronunciation or speaking practice test.  Furthermore, the feedback would 1) give him a score, 2) explain why, 3) point out possible problems with delivery, grammar and language use, and topic development, and 4) recommend specific lessons that Jackson review in order to strengthen his TOEFL speaking. Case in point, if Michael noticed that Jackson were having problems organizing his speaking tasks, Michael would recommend that he study TOEFL Speaking Lesson 7, which explains four techniques that Jackson can use to make his speaking responses coherent.

Here is a video which explains in more detail exactly what Michael said to Jackson:

After watching the video, Jackson was beginning to understand how an online TOEFL course worked, and he liked that Michael took the time to answer his questions by way of video.  Jackson had a better picture how “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT” worked, and he knew that he could always go to the FAQ’s page for the online course if he had more questions.
